Role SummaryThe Centralized Standards Team in Rivian’s Facilities organization is seeking an architectural standards expert. In this multifaceted role, you will drive the development and evolution of our design and program standards to ensure consistency across our entire fleet, working with various teams in North America. We are looking for an architecture professional with a systems-oriented approach to problem-solving who thrives in a fast-paced, start-up environment. As a member of the Centralized Design team, your responsibilities will include owning the Revit drafting and modeling of in-house standards, maintaining product and equipment catalogs, and engaging with cross-functional teams. The Commercial Facilities organization delivers a high volume of projects annually, and this role will be instrumental in supporting our significant scaling efforts.
Responsibilities- Support the organization and maintenance of two Revit files used to communicate standards to AEOR
partners:
A Container File containing 3D information for all commercial (Service, Retail and Charging) projects; and
A Project Starter Template File which contains a templatized sheet list, standard details, schedules,
legends and other content to provide our teams with a consistent starting point for project kick off. - Ingest and track requests for updated content across the Facilities Commercial organization and relevant
partner teams; - Collaborate with multiple crossfunctional teams to collate and filter markups of documentation deliverables
in Bluebeam Sessions; - Create new space type data sheets and supporting content when needed;
- Provide support for the project template and container files, develop and maintain 2D & 3D assets.
- Ensuring metadata is present and consistent, scheduling is functioning correctly and content needed across architecture and engineering disciplines is up to date;
- Coordinate with the standards and execution team to ensure that our product catalogs are coordinated with the Revit content on a minimum monthly basis;
- Work with our Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) team to ensure that 3D information contained in 3D
content catalog is organized and maintained properly; - Collaborate with key partners like Building Experience and Purchasing to align/influence branding and
procurement strategies from a standards development perspective - Proactively suggest improvements to models or process to support Rivian’s scaling portfolio;
- Work with our internal Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) team to QC updates to both files
- Collaborate with various teams (Facilities, Operations etc) based in North America across multiple time
zones.
QualificationsTo successfully perform the typical tasks and duties of the position, the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities listed below are required:
- A bachelor’s degree in architecture, architectural engineering or similar is preferred with knowledge of
engineering drawings and specifications - Revit proficiency with minimum 3-5 years professional experience
- Revit proficiency modeling parametric Revit families varying in complexity and scale.
- Revit proficiency developing and managing large drawing sets for Architecture and MEPS
- Familiarity with Bluebeam & Jira experience
- Ability to manage multiple projects and issues effectively
- Possesses written and oral communication skills to support decisions and recommendations
- Conduct meetings and provide effective leadership to project team members
- Experience working in a cross-functional environment for owner operators
- Demonstrable experience in process improvement and implementation
