Controls Technician- Monday- Friday 6:30am - 3:00pm
Status: Non-Exempt (hourly)

Position Summary
The Maintenance and Calibration Technician will work under the direction of their Manager in a support role for the manufacturing and test floor. The Controls Technician will be responsible for a variety of tasks that includes maintaining, repairing, and optimizing the automation solutions of mechanical products, machinery, equipment, and the facility, as needed. The ability to communicate and work effectively and cooperatively with operators, engineers, and management is critical. The Controls Technician plays an integral part in achieving Operational Excellence. The ideal candidate will have a strong electro-mechanical background and be well versed in PLC logic and programing. Additionally, the candidate will be detail-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow and ensure strict adherence of safety procedures and checks.
- Inspecting, analyzing, and troubleshooting systems and equipment.
- Perform the more complex and specialized mechanical / electrical troubleshooting
- Automation Integration work associated with Fuel Cell & Electrolyzer production and testing equipment.
- Develops special purpose instrumentation and/or shop or laboratory test equipment.
- Maintains records on work performed, analyzes data collected, reports results.
- Maintains good housekeeping, safety practices and supplies.
- Coordinates and exchanges findings with personnel both inside and outside of work group.
- Repairing or replacing faulty equipment.
- Optimize performance of facility, equipment, and processes.
- Identify opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain working area in good working condition and well-organized.
Education and Experience
- Two-year associate degree in mechanical or electrical field or combination of equivalent training and experience or 6+ years of professional controls oriented experience.
Required Competencies, Skills, and Experience
- Ability to read drawings and interpret designs.
- Ability to troubleshoot a wide range of PLC variants and implement changes where required
- Thorough knowledge of sophisticated mechanical and/or electrical concepts.
- Knowledge of engineering math.
- Analytical ability where problems are somewhat complex.
- Strong Initiative.
- Outstanding interpersonal and relationship leadership skills to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization as needed.
- Emerging partnership and teamwork skills and ability to learn from and share knowledge with co-workers in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with:
- Modbus Protocol
- PLC Programming – Ladder Logic, Functional Block Diagram, Sequential Flow Charts
- Schneider automation suite (Citect, Vijeo, Unity, Modicon, etc)
- Allen Bradley (RS Logix, Factory Talk, etc)
- Data management
- C or C++
- HMI/SCADA Programming
- VB Scripting
- Microsoft Office suite
- Previous Controls
- Entry level Microsoft office proficiency (Excel, Word, Visio, Project, PowerPoint).
- Fuel Cell knowledge or experience.
- Organizational skills.
**This position requires an employee to be on-site on a full-time basis
Pay Rate:
$31.80 - $46.10
