Tesla’s Cathode Advanced Manufacturing team is looking for an experienced chemical manufacturing professional to join our team and manage all aspects of strategic financial planning operations for a novel battery chemical plant. As the Operations Cost and Optimization Program Manager, you will be part of a growing team where your impact will contribute to laying the foundation for a new chemical manufacturing operation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemical manufacturing, with experience in plant financial evaluation and economic forecasting based on sound technical principles. You will be responsible for providing financial analysis and support to the plant operations team, evaluating technical capital deployment opportunities, ensuring compliance with all corporate financial policies and procedures, identifying cost improvement opportunities, and providing granular visibility into the financial performance of the plant.
What You'll Do
Perform techno-economic analysis for plant expansions and improvement projectsIntegrate with upstream and downstream supply chains, both internal and external, to optimize feedstock and offtake opportunitiesEvaluate and support policy, government, and strategic partnerships in the EV battery spaceEstablish work processes and management systems for Logistics and Operations teams to manage financial reporting for the plant, including monthly and annual financial COGS plans and forecastsDevelop and monitor annual operating budgets and forecastsAnalyze financial performance, identify areas for improvement, and ensure compliance with all corporate financial policies and proceduresWork with the corporate tax team to ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivelent experienceMinimum of 3 years of industry experience in large, complex chemical manufacturingStrong knowledge of financial management, economic analysis, and accounting principlesExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentWillingness to relocate to Austin
