Tesla’s Energy & Charging Services organization operates and maintains deployed assets including North American residential & commercial solar, global behind-the-meter & front-of-meter storage, and global electric vehicle charging infrastructure. The mission of the organization is to maximize fleet health and delight our customers while minimizing the cost of maintaining the fleet.
The Solar Asset Manager is responsible for the oversight of commercial and operational deliverables to Tesla’s Military Housing portfolios of 100+ MW of photovoltaic systems. This role serves as the primary liaison for business customers of Tesla-owned Solar products, overseeing the financial and operational performance of the energy assets to ensure they achieve their objectives and deliver value to both clients and stakeholders. Responsibilities include continuously evaluating and optimizing system operations, system performance, and maximizing site-level profitability.
This role may be based out of the following locations: Fremont, CA; Austin, TX; Henderson, NV; Buffalo, NY.
What You'll Do
Maximize the operational performance and gross profit for solar systems, including working closely with the onsite operations team to ensure safe and efficient maintenance of the assetsManage and resolve legal, contractual, regulatory, and operational issues as they arise, ensuring compliance with all projects’ governing documents including Power Purchase Agreements, Operations & Maintenance Agreements, and Interconnection AgreementsManage day-to-day stakeholder relationships (internally and externally) with end customers, field service teams, finance/accounting teams, and other parties needed to operate the assetsReview reports on project performance as needed per contractual obligations and drive the closure of open inquiries across the portfoliosNegotiate service and renewal contracts as needed Monitor and influence all maintenance and operations for the assets based on fleet health, organizational priorities, and current fiscal relationship with end customer Coordinate with internal and external resources to develop strategies that maximize revenue and reduce risk and market exposure of the assets
What You'll Bring
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or equivalent experienceExperience with financial metrics and analysis, along with strong understanding of project finance, legal contracts, accounting, and contract/warranty negotiationsIntimate knowledge of the energy and renewable energy market, with the ability to stay current about changing technologies, regulations, and trends influencing the continued adoption of renewable energy. Prior operational experience at solar, wind, thermal, coal, hydro, or nuclear industries a plusSelf-motivated with the ability to work with little supervision, strong learning skills with aptitude to independently research, understand, and implement knowledge in new areasStrong attention to detail with the ability to effectively multitask, managing heavy workloadCommercial mindset, strong prioritization, communication, and organizational skillsStrong leadership skills with the ability to inspire people to action through their influence

Expected Compensation
$80,000 - $186,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
