Job Summary
The Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) Reliability Technician ensures the smooth operation of our network of EV charging stations, including ChargePoint. This role is ideal for individuals with technical aptitude and an understanding of low-voltage systems, basic electrical safety, and a strong attention to detail. Job Responsibilities: Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled inspections and routine maintenance on EV charging stations to ensure optimal functionality and reliability. Troubleshooting & Repairs: resolve issues related to electrical, software, and hardware components of EV charging systems and perform repairs or replacement of faulty components. Software & Hardware Updates: Ensure charging stations are running the latest firmware and software updates. Configure settings to align with customer specifications. Station Cleanliness & Safety: Keep stations clean and visually inspect for any potential safety hazards (e.g., water ingress, damaged cables). Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used. Submit reports using the company’s internal software platform. Customer Support: Respond to customer inquiries related to charging station performance and assist with on-site technical issues as needed. Manage logistics: Make travel arrangements for site visits and emergency repairs across the region. Collaboration: Work closely with the operations and engineering team to provide feedback on trends or recurring issues to help improve the overall quality of service.
Qualifications: Technical certification or associate degree in electronics, electrical systems, or a related field is a plus. Minimum of two years hands-on experience in electrical systems is required; experience with EVSE or renewable energy technologies is a plus. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Experience with BYD Charging and ChargePoint Level 2 is a plus. Willingness to travel extensively within the region. Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting up to 30 lbs, bending, and standing for long periods. Experience with EV Charging Stations, familiarity with brands like ChargePoint, or other EV charging platforms. Customer Service Experience, working with customers directly, resolving issues and providing excellent service. Basic Software Skills, comfort in using cloud-based tools, mobile apps, or computer software for data logging and reporting. Interest in the EV Industry, a strong desire to work in the rapidly expanding electric vehicle sector.
