What To Expect
We are seeking an energetic, highly motivated, team-oriented Quality Engineering Technician to be responsible for driving quality across all parts and assemblies produced on various lines specific to (high voltage electro-mechanical, components and subassemblies for Model S/X/3/Y/Cyber/Semi etc.) and ensure that all material both in-process and incoming, meets Tesla’s quality requirements and specifications. This person will be responsible for identifying quality issues within the manufacturing environment, leading investigations, and root cause analysis, collecting relevant process and product data, and managing non-conforming material. This person will work closely with production and engineering teams to maintain rapid response and to drive continuous improvements to the production process.
What You'll Do
Lead the organization and completion of Quality trials working with Quality Engineers and Quality TechsSupport new line validations with Quality EngineersLead product tear downs for root cause analysisDrive the creation and maintenance of Quality Instruction documentsSupport Quality Engineers in root cause analysis of materialized quality issuesWork closely with manufacturing, process, and suppliers to establish processes and procedures that will ensure consistently high qualityMaintain, update, and validate product and quality plans and control plans
What You'll Bring
Experience on Model 3 Drive Unit, Battery Module, or Pack linesExperience with quality systems in a high-volume manufacturing environmentExperienced in QS-9000, ISO/TS 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, DFMEA, PFMEA preferredKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices, 5S, TPS, TQM, etc. highly desiredStrong aptitude with electronic test and measurement systemsProficiency at reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and wiring diagramsAbility to command the english language both written and verbal

Expected Compensation
Engineering Technician I - $25.93 - $28.90/hourEngineering Technician II - $29.88 - $33.02/hour
+ cash and stock awards + benefits for all levels
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
