Overview:
Joby Aviation is seeking a passionate CATIA Drafter/Checker to join our Electric Powertrain team. This role will work primarily on developing, refining and maintaining CAD and other models for the components and assemblies that make up the world’s most sophisticated and power dense Electric Propulsion System (EPU). The candidate will participate in the releasing and checking of components and assemblies for product development in concept, production, and beyond.
Responsibilities:
- Design and development of engineering components from concept through sustaining engineering
- Creation and checking of 2D engineering part and assembly drawings per ASME Y14.5
- Change management of parts, assemblies and documentation through FAA certification and beyond
- Creation, maintenance, and hand off of Change Actions as needed to help engineers
- Checking Drawings – Follow checklist to ensure drawings follow requirements from best drafting practices, GD&T logical output, BOM matching/checking, Note conformity, and CA approvals
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
Qualifications:
- HS Diploma or GED
- Years of working experience in relevant industry as a drafter, designer, or checker
- Proficient in complex assembly and part modeling in Dassault CATIA (V5, V6, 3DX) & Enovia
- Experience in a high-output environment in or related to engineering
- Moderate to High Proficiency in BOM structuring, Engineering Change Management in ENOVIA
- Highly proactive attitude with the ability to manage multiple assignments
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced dynamic environment
Miscellaneous:
- Drafting & GD&T Test will be given
- Will meet with various engineers to verify experience
- Work is onsite (some remote may be acceptable)
- Additional internal training will be provided by Joby
- Compensation is competitive and dependent on experience
