Act as the primary contact for all safety, health, environment, and security at facilities in Michigan and California

Develop and update safety, health, environment, and security policies and procedures

Investigate industrial accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine causes and preventive measures
-
Maintain and apply knowledge of current policies, regulations, and industrial processes
-
Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct hazards and ensure compliance
-
Conduct or coordinate training on security, health/safety laws, hazard monitoring, and safety equipment use
-
Assist with administration of the Safety and Security Council, administrative, and IT network security
-
Work with Legal and other departments on environmental permits under State and Federal laws (MDEQ, EPA, CA)
-
Review employee health and safety programs for adequacy and compliance
-
Review plans/specs for new machinery or equipment to ensure all EH&S requirements are met
-
Compile, analyze, and interpret statistical data related to illnesses and accidents
-
Interpret health and safety regulations for managers, inspectors, and other stakeholders
-
Coordinate sample collection of dust, gases, vapors, and toxic materials for analysis when needed
-
Examine credentials, licenses, and permits to ensure regulatory compliance
-
Supply, operate, and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE)
-
Prepare and calibrate equipment used for sampling and analysis
-
Test workplaces for health hazards and provide related reports
-
Review physicians' reports and conduct studies to determine job-related illness

Act as primary contact for security access and vendor controls at the facility

Implement and manage capital projects related to security, safety, health, and environment
