Position Summary
Lead a team of engineering technicians that are responsible for supporting new product development and sustaining engineering activities. This includes managing a fleet of test vehicles and charging equipment, installing new components and devices on test vehicles, performing product-level software testing, communicating technical issues and concerns, performing a variety of functional checks, and testing of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Position Responsibilities

- Manage the daily activities of the Prototype team, including:
- Coordination with cross-functional teams to determine the scope and timing of activities.
- Task assignment, balance changing workloads, and ensuring activities are prioritized appropriately.
- Aligning with other teams to drive successful outcomes across the organization.
- Create and maintain processes and procedures.
- Establish goals, communicate effectively with team members, and track completion progress.
- Communicate significant delays, issues, or changes that impact the prototype build process.
- Identify opportunities to leverage new technologies and methods that enable the team to deliver successful outcomes for a variety of prototype solutions.
- Evaluate and recommend infrastructure and equipment improvements.
- Specify new tools and equipment, as well as present respective justifications to leadership.
- Anticipate issues and provide options for success that align with cross-functional teams.
- Develop and maintain a safe work environment and mindset.
- Maintain equipment and engineering bays to ensure they are kept clean and organized.
- Identify and implement process improvements.
- Conduct performance evaluations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or other technical degree from an accredited university
- Demonstrated success in leading technical teams
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Ideal Candidates Will Also Have
- Experience working in or a practical understanding of the trucking industry
- Agile development environment
- Working knowledge of automotive standards and best practices
