What To Expect
The Site Security Specialist will directly oversee security operations at the site level. They are expected to work with minimal supervision while providing leadership and direction to security staff while partnering with key stakeholders to continuously improve the wholistic security posture.
This position will ensure compliance with enterprise-wide security policies, drive security strategy and manage security risk. The role is key in establishing a proactive, consultative, and business-aligned approach to Tesla Security. The ideal candidate has a bias for action, is trustworthy, and consistently demonstrates excellence.

What You'll Do
Work with internal stakeholders to understand the risks Tesla faces and build effective programs to mitigate these risksProvide on-going security recommendations during design, construction, and any type of site refresh; Drive digital business transformation by identifying and supporting adoption of new technologies and toolsEstablish projections for and reconcile security spends, minimizing variance between projected and actual spend, driving efficiencies to create a financially sustainable security practiceBuild effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including law enforcement and regional first responders; Support and manage vendor relationships including key performance tracking, accountability, and cost effectivenessProactively identify, develop, and implement additional security strategies to meet the unique needs of the Tesla business. Support the design and implement security mitigations, which are cost-effective and meet the needs of our business partnersAct as point of contact in an emergency or critical circumstance developing the emergency response plan for a range of security incidents at the siteCreate and implement policies and procedures to support the local and global security program; Deliver security training and awareness programs to employees
What You'll Bring
3+ years of security experience with at least 2 years as a people manager. Experience managing refinery or manufacturing security operations is desirableBachelor's Degree or equivalent experience Up to date security certifications and/or licensing for the US state the position is based in; CPP, PSP or equivalent certifications are a plusExperience with access control, surveillance, and other security systemsAbility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as operational need dictates and be able to travel domestically regularlyValid driver's license required to be able to operate assigned fleet
