The Role: The
Safety Operations Lead plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of employees at the expansive Spring Hill Assembly complex. This site encompasses a wide range of operations, including electric vehicle assembly, battery production and assembly, stamping, injection molding, body metal fabrication, paint shop, facilities, and logistics. In this union environment, the
Safety Operations Lead will work closely with UAW safety partners to foster a culture of safety and compliance. The role involves developing and implementing comprehensive safety and industrial hygiene processes, aligning them with the company's strategic objectives. The
Safety Operations Lead must excel in building positive relationships with staff members and effectively communicating safety practices across all levels of the organization. Join the Workplace Safety organization and help us influence others to live the values that return people home safely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Safety professionals, fostering a culture of safety and compliance throughout the Spring Hill Assembly complex.
- Strategy Development: Analyze, create, and implement comprehensive safety strategies that align with company goals and regulatory requirements, tailored to the diverse operations at the site.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively across all levels of the site, including electric vehicle assembly, battery production, stamping, injection molding, body metal fabrication, paint shop, facilities, and logistics. Engage resources and lead initiatives to enhance safety practices.
- Union Partnership: Work closely with UAW safety partners to ensure safety protocols are adhered to and foster positive relationships within the union environment.
- Communication & Relationship Building: Utilize strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence and drive acceptance of new safety concepts, practices, and approaches within the organization. Build and maintain positive relationships with staff members.
- Proactive Problem Solving: Identify potential safety risks and react promptly by engaging the appropriate resources to initiate problem-solving measures. Ensure a proactive approach to safety management.
- Continuous Improvement: Promote and lead continuous improvement efforts in safety and industrial hygiene processes, ensuring they are effective and up-to-date with industry standards.
- Corporate Safety Initiatives: Execute corporate safety requirements, action items, and initiatives to ensure alignment with company-wide safety objectives.

- Bachelors Degree.
- 5 Years of safety related experience.

- 5+ Years of safety experience.
- Experience managing a team of safety professionals.
- Safety credentials such as ASP, GSP, CSP, etc.
