What To Expect
Consider before submitting an application:
This position is expected to start around August or September 2025 and continue through the Fall term (ending approximately December 2025) or continuing into Winter/Spring 2026 if available and there is an opportunity to do so. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program. Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships.
International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.

What You'll Do
Analysis Engineering interns will work on projects supporting the design and production of current & future products Core responsibilities of interns on the Analysis Engineering team are: using CAE (FEA/CFD) simulation tools to develop vehicle structure, crash safety, durability, fatigue, and battery safety performance and to develop new methods to improve these simulation tools The successful candidates will work with Design Engineering teams to analyze the performance of future designs and with Test Engineering teams to develop tests, correlate simulation models, and improve the predictive capability of Analysis Engineering at Tesla Build models that are calibrated by test data, using both model frameworks already developed and new ones from academia/industry Analyze test data and create clear data forward reports Participate in discussions with component designers to provide detailed feedback to guide component design, focused on thermal/hydraulic/electrical performance
What You'll Bring
Currently pursuing a Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field Completion of statics, dynamics, and materials science undergraduate courses Must have strong problem-solving skills Interest in analytical and numerical techniques Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) & Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Applied experience in COMSOL, ANSYS-FLUENT, STAR CCM+ Applied experience in MATLAB and Simulink preferred Demonstrated experience in stand-alone or coupled analysis of electronic components for thermal, fluid mechanics, electro-magnetism, and structural Demonstrated ability to deliver analysis on difficult projects with tight timing constraints Demonstrated ability to deconstruct complex test scenarios with good logic and analytics and root-causing correlation problems Demonstrated ability in iterative and collaborative automotive-similar engineering environments

Expected Compensation
$20.00 - $50.00/hour + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
