American Battery Solutions has a full-time opening for a Warehouse Operations Coordinator in Lake Orion, Michigan.
Job Summary
The Warehouse Operations Coordinator – Lake Orion (LO) at American Battery Solutions (ABS) will coordinate all shipping and receiving activities, ensuring compliance with DOT hazmat regulations. This role involves controlling warehouse inventory, coordinating material transfers, and preparing shipments using various shipping software. Additionally, this role supports the production team, conducts cycle counts, and maintains an organized and safe work environment.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate warehouse inventory utilizing the PLEX Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
- Fulfill all shipping requests in the ABS SharePoint database in a timely manner.
- Coordinate, prepare, and execute interplant material transfers in collaboration with the Inventory Clerk.
- Prepare daily shipments by accurately picking, packing, and shipping materials on time using approved freight carriers. Responsibilities include generating the bill of lading, commercial invoice documents for customs clearance, and shipping through the customer shipping and truck shipping modules in PLEX when applicable.
- Utilize external shipping software such as UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, and MyDHL+ to schedule domestic and international shipments.
- Verify and maintain records of all incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring freight charges are charged to the appropriate party.
- Prepare goods for shipment by verifying information, piece counts, or measurements of incoming and outgoing shipments against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Unload and receive incoming materials, verifying quantities shown on packing slips to actual items received. Process receipts in the ERP system using the Receive General/Part module.
- Visually inspect incoming materials for shipping damage, document any issues, and coordinate with the vendor or Supplier Development Engineer (SDE) to resolve damaged items.
- Administer supplier returns; obtain return materials authorization (RMA) and properly package parts for return to the supplier.
- Select appropriate carriers for domestic and international shipments and complete required shipping documentation per DOT hazmat regulations.
- Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet DOT Hazmat requirements.
- Support the production team by replenishing lineside material as needed and operating a forklift to move material throughout the building.
- Conduct cycle counts and participate in all physical inventory activities as required by ABS management.
- Collaborate with shipping personnel to ensure label accuracy and to create new labels for relocated or new parts.
- Ensure the department is orderly and organized by maintaining 5S standards.
- Follow and adhere to all safety procedures.
- Adhere to all federal and state regulations.
- Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures.
- Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
- Predictable and reliable attendance.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation Management, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years experience of in logistics, shipping and receiving, and warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of two (2) years of customer service experience.
- Ability to understand and interpret data.
- Ability to stay organized while multitasking.
- Experience using PLEX ERP software for inventory management.
- Hazmat certification is preferred.
- Forklift certification is preferred.
- Excellent use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, and SharePoint.
