The Role
The role of an Engineering Group Manager specializing in Driver-in-the-Loop (DiL) toolchains and simulation for motorsport applications is a dynamic and challenging position that requires a unique blend of technical expertise and leadership skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and enhancement of a comprehensive suite of DiL tools, ensuring their effective application to maximize vehicle performance on the track. This pivotal role involves setting strategic direction, introducing cutting-edge methodologies, and fostering best practices in hardware and software development, control systems, and Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) research and development. The aim is to drive innovation and excellence in all aspects of motorsport engineering, contributing significantly to the success of GM's racing endeavors across various series.
What You’ll Do
- Play a key role in managing the development of GM’s DiL program
- Build and manage a multi-disciplinary team of engineers
- Develop and implement efficient RT capable software in a simulation toolchain
- Develop new simulation, software and analytical techniques aimed at maximizing on track performance
- Supervise an inter-functional team, defining guidelines and ensuring an effective and efficient flow of information within different functions

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelor of Science in an engineering related field
- 7 or more years of industry related experience
- 3 or more years of motorsport experience
- Experience with the architecture and performance of NASCAR race vehicles
- Previous experience developing MBS model in Dymola/Modelica
- Experience with Concurrent or other RT capable hardware and software
- Previous software development experience
- Previous experience deploying a simulation tool within a race team
- Excellent written and verbal skills

Company Vehicle: Upon successful completion of a motor vehicle report review, you will be eligible to participate in a company vehicle evaluation program, through which you will be assigned a General Motors vehicle to drive and evaluate. Note: program participants are required to purchase/lease a qualifying GM vehicle every four years unless one of a limited number of exceptions applies.
