In this position...
The Area Manager will be responsible for managing the sale of Ford & Lincoln used vehicle assets (Rental Repurchase, Off-Lease, Repo, Company Service and ARS) at Ford Sponsored Auction in the Dallas Ft Worth TX area at the Manheim-Dallas Ft Worth Auto Auction. Position will receive on-the-job training primarily from the Regional Operations Manager, local Per Diem and other Ford Area Managers.
Responsibilities
What you'll do...
- Inspect and make repair decisions on all vehicles.
- Represent the vehicles on the auction block on sale days, including remote sales at other Ford Sponsored Auctions
- Ensure all expenses and fees are properly audited.
- Ensure all Ford auction standards and processes are met.
- Direct supplier staff assigned to support Ford's business at the auction.
- Position includes calling on franchise dealers and routine interaction with franchise and independent dealers.
- Position includes selling our Automotive Remarketing Services (ARS) products/services to our franchised dealers and Fleet customers.
- Position office is in the supplier facility; Typical work hours are 8AM-5PM M-F, with occasional casual overtime as needed to support peak volumes and additional department initiatives.
- Position includes one sale vehicle.
- Position will likely include some overnight travel to support other auctions :25%
Qualifications
You'll have...
- Bachelor's degree
- 5 years of relevant experience
- Position requires physical, daily work outside in a variety of weather conditions.
- IMPORTANT: Future relocation to a different Ford Sponsored Auction location is possible (depending on employee’s progress and department business needs at other auction locations).
- Must be willing to accommodate 25% travel.
- Willingness to relocate for future advancement within the department and the company.
Even better, you may have...
- Knowledge or experience in remarketing, insurance claim assessments, used vehicle wholesale and/or retail acquisition and disposal practices a plus.
- Must work well without daily supervision. Must be a self-starter with the highest level of integrity.
- Strong organizational and quick decision-making skills.
- Strong sales skills to help grow our Remarketing services to our dealer and fleet customers.
- Strong interpersonal skills – position works closely with vendor staff and dealers. Past interaction with franchise dealers strongly preferred.
