As Vice President – Corporate Development & M&A, you will lead global inorganic growth strategy execution to advance EXL’s strategic priorities globally. In this role, you will oversee the full lifecycle of acquisitions, investments, and divestitures that shape EXL’s future footprint, capabilities, and market leadership.
This role partners with EXL’s Executive Leadership Team—including the CEO, CFO, General Counsel, and Cross functional Leaders—to define and deliver a high-impact capital allocation strategy. You will be accountable for identifying strategic growth opportunities in existing and new markets, evaluating international M&A targets, and leading cross-border transactions that deliver long-term value. You will also engage with external global stakeholders, including advisors, private equity partners, and leadership teams of acquisition targets.
This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership position requiring both strategic vision and precision execution to build EXL’s global platform for sustained, profitable growth.
Global M&A Strategy & Execution
- Lead the origination and execution of M&A transactions globally aligning each opportunity with EXL’s strategic goals and geographic priorities.
- Drive global market scans, competitive benchmarking, and white-space analysis to identify regional acquisition opportunities and capability expansions.
- Build investment theses and value-creation frameworks tailored to geographic nuances, regulatory dynamics, and sector opportunities.
- Lead negotiation of global deal terms, valuation, legal documentation, and synergy realization plans.
Corporate Strategy & Capital Allocation
- Shape EXL’s long-term corporate development roadmap in partnership with the executive leadership, ensuring alignment with business unit and regional strategies.
- Evaluate inorganic opportunities in core, adjacent, and transformational categories, including platform acquisitions, tuck-ins, and cross-border partnerships.
- Drive executive- and board-level alignment on capital deployment decisions.
Cross-Border Stakeholder Engagement
- Represent EXL externally with CEOs, founders, investors, and financial institutions globally
- Cultivate strong relationships with global investment banks, legal firms, strategy consultants, and M&A advisors to ensure pipeline visibility and deal execution excellence.
Align internal global stakeholders across functions and regions to accelerate transaction readiness and decision-making.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Integration Planning
- Lead cross-regional due diligence and transaction execution teams, partnering with Finance, Legal, HR, Operations, and Technology.
- Design and operationalize post-merger integration strategies across geographies, ensuring seamless execution and cultural alignment.
- Track performance and synergy realization across regions post-transaction.

Qualifications
- 13+ years of experience in M&A, investment banking, private equity, or corporate strategy with strong exposure to cross-border transactions.
- Deep knowledge of international markets, business environments, and regulatory frameworks across EMEA and APAC.
- Proven track record of executing complex global deals, with end-to-end ownership from origination through integration.
- Experience working with C-suite and boards on strategic growth, M&A, and capital deployment.
- MBA from a top-tier institution or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
