Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated and flexible candidate to be an integral member of the small team responsible for providing a high quality library and information service to NHS staff and students. They will carry out varied library tasks such as assisting with the document delivery service, dealing with overdue stock, promoting the library services and resources, staffing the enquiry desk and attending to users.
Main duties of the job
To carry out varied library tasks such as maintaining stock control; promoting the library’s services, resources and facilities; assisting with the document delivery service; dealing with overdue stock; checking new books in and monitoring open orders; processing new books on arrival and staffing the enquiry desk and attending to users.
The ideal candidate will be customer-orientated, have strong interpersonal and IT skills, a good eye for detail and be willing to learn how to use a variety of computerised systems.
Experience of working in a library will be an advantage.
