Lucid Motors is looking for an experienced and visionary
Director of Infotainment Quality Assurance (QA) to lead our global QA efforts for cutting-edge embedded systems. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in automotive technology, along with a proven track record of driving quality in fast-paced, innovation-focused environments. This is a critical leadership role where you'll shape the future of automotive systems, ensuring that our products exceed the highest standards of performance, quality, and user experience.
You Will
- Drive the design and integration of comprehensive test requirements early in the development lifecycle, ensuring high-quality standards from the outset.
- Implement cutting-edge testing strategies that leverage virtual environments and shared harness setups, significantly accelerating delivery timelines and enhancing product quality.
- Lead testing for embedded systems, UI, and device connectivity to ensure seamless, high-performance user experiences across all infotainment platforms.
- Utilize AI-driven techniques to optimize test case generation and improve overall testing efficiency, driving faster and smarter quality assurance.
- Establish key metrics and data-driven tracking systems to optimize test coverage, guide decision-making, and improve product readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Innovation
- Lead and scale a global QA team, defining and executing a robust strategy for infotainment software, embedded systems, UI, and connectivity.
- Drive innovation in testing methodologies, leveraging AI and simulation-based tools for automated test case generation and enhanced testing efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with engineering to integrate testability early in the development process, ensuring designs meet high-quality standards.
Metrics & Data-Driven Testing
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to define and track test coverage, defect trends, and system stability.
- Use analytics to identify high-risk areas that require increased testing focus, improving test effectiveness and efficiency.
- Provide data-driven insights to inform software release decisions, ensuring high confidence in product quality before deployment.
- Continuously refine test execution strategies based on real-world performance data, defect rates, and customer feedback.
Quality & Process Optimization
- Oversee embedded systems testing, ensuring robust integration of hardware and software components.
- Lead UI testing efforts, validating that infotainment interfaces are intuitive, responsive, and aligned with product specifications.
- Ensure comprehensive device connectivity testing, including smartphone integration, cloud services, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and third-party devices.
- Optimize test automation frameworks to maximize efficiency, leveraging continuous integration (CI) and continuous testing methodologies.
- Foster a culture of quality by mentoring and developing QA talent while collaborating cross-functionally with engineering and product teams.
You Bring
- 10+ years of leadership experience in QA, with 5+ years specifically focused on infotainment systems, automotive software, or embedded systems.
- Proven ability to scale and manage large, complex QA teams while optimizing efficiency in test execution.
- Expert in developing and executing data-driven testing strategies with a strong emphasis on metrics and performance.
- Hands-on experience with AI-driven testing methods, including automation and virtualized testing environments.
- Extensive knowledge of automotive industry standards, infotainment systems, and connectivity technologies.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration skills to drive team alignment and influence key decisions.
Great To Have
- Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Familiarity with Android Automotive, QNX, Linux, and other embedded operating systems.
- Proven success in managing global, distributed teams and vendors.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs. (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)
Base Pay Range (Annual)
$205,600—$301,510 USD
