Requirements
Role Overview 🔎
We're looking for backend engineers at all levels—from Intermediate to Senior/Principal—to join our team and shape the future of real estate automation with Orbital Copilot, our groundbreaking product transforming property transactions across the globe. Alongside this, you'll contribute to the evolution of our successful existing platform, which helps real estate professionals extract key insights and generate reports from legal documents. We're embracing cutting-edge technologies, including Large Language Models (LLMs) like OpenAI's GPT-4o, and this role offers an exciting opportunity to apply these advancements in production-ready, mission-critical systems.
In this role, you'll own the end-to-end design and development of key features, backend services, and the infrastructure that powers our web applications. Working in a collaborative, fast-paced team, you'll be involved in every stage of the development lifecycle, from discovery and design to implementation, deployment, and continuous improvement. With a focus on quality, usability, and impact, you'll play a pivotal role in building a transformative product for lawyers and a growing B2B audience, supported by a cross-functional team committed to innovation and technical excellence.

- Dive deep into complex low-level backend engineering and system architecture challenges, solving problems at the core of the application
- Design and implement scalable, reliable backend systems that form the backbone of our cutting-edge product
- Take full ownership of critical technology decisions to lay the foundation for our ambitious growth plans
- Develop, test, refactor, deploy, maintain, and support production software with precision and care
- Collaborate closely with a cross-functional team (AI product manager, VP of AI, legal experts, and other engineers) to experiment quickly and ship impactful features
- Champion code quality and reuse to create a maintainable and scalable codebase
- Play a pivotal role in architecture and code reviews, ensuring our applications meet the highest standards of quality, security, and scalability
- Work on infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines, ensuring seamless integration and deployment of systems
- Ensure compliance with security policies and ISO 27001 by protecting sensitive data and following secure coding practices to prevent breaches, injection, and unauthorised access
You should apply if you have: ✍️
- Proficiency in Python with proven experience building and scaling backend systems from scratch
- Expertise in frameworks like FastAPI and SQLAlchemy for building robust and efficient backend solutions
- Strong hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code, enabling scalable and reliable systems
- Proven experience managing and scaling applications in cloud environments, particularly with Azure services
- Experience setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for smooth and automated deployments
- A deep understanding of automated testing methodologies to ensure high-quality, bug-free code
- Low-Level & Deep Stack Problem-Solving:
- Enjoy working on problems that require digging deep into architecture and backend complexity
