Position OverviewInternational Corporation, a leading North American truck manufacturer with great products, a strong market position and best-in-class distribution network, has an exciting new opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager - Site Planning to join our Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Team at our Advanced Technology Center in Elmendorf, TX just outside of San Antonio.
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager - Site Planning will support the site planning, process, tooling and equipment development of battery and electrification programs as well as coordinate manufacturing input tied to site development. Travel can be up to 50% at any Navistar plants in US, Mexico, Europe and Asia.
Responsibilities- Support product development (R&D) on product concepts.
- Influence design to ensure manufacturability and DFA
- Lead role in coordinating and ensuring completion of manufacturing facilities and site milestones for new program implementations. Support Manufacturing Subject Matter Experts as needed
- Lead cross-departmental co-ordination fostering effective collaboration to ensure seamless integration of manufacturing processes
- Lead the development and implementation of site plans for new battery and electric vehicle manufacturing facilities, ensuring optimal layout and infrastructure to support production, safety, and energy efficiency
- Develop associated assembly equipment and tooling designs. Lead select projects from concept thru procurement, installation, and commissioning.
- Standardize manufacturing processes by benchmarking other facilities’ manufacturing processes and integration best practices and standards into new process development.
- Serve as primary interface between the design, engineering, construction and production teams to align site planning with operational requirements
- Manage the timeline, budget, and deliverables for process equipment, project implementation and site planning projects
- Implement green building practices and manage energy consumption to meet sustainability goals
- Work with contractors, vendors, service providers to ensure the manufacturing site meets quality standards and is maintained to support continuous operations
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations including safety, environmental and building codes.
- Collaborate with Environmental Health and Safety teams
- Develop and manage the operational budget for manufacturing site infrastructure including capital expenditures for ongoing investments and future project planning
- Identify opportunities for improving site efficiency, production workflows, and facility upgrades to accommodate future growth
- Participate and contribute to cross brand teams on manufacturing site development and benchmarking
Minimum Requirements- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 8 years of facilities or administration experience
- At least 2 years of management experience

Desired Skills- EV battery assembly and vehicle assembly experience highly desired.
- Proficiency with AutoCad, Unigraphics or NX (TeamCenter) highly desired
- Project Management expertise and proven ability to manage large scale complex projects from inception to completion
- Proven ability to implement new product and programs in a manufacturing environment
- Technical site planning and manufacturing facility layouts, knowledge of equipment, utilities and systems to support high volume automated production
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and complete work in a timely manner in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision
- Experience with automated tooling design and procurement, and robotic systems is highly desired
- Experience with Torque Tooling and Fastening Systems preferred
- Experience with high voltage battery systems, electronics assembly systems and battery quality testing a plus.
- Experience with truck or automotive assembly is a plus
- Detailed analytical skills
- Ability to understand and organize complex sets of data
- Ability to interact with all levels of management at the local and division levels
- Proficient in MS Office computer skills
- Ability to take an active role and participate on cross functional teams across multiple brands
- Proven ability to initiate and support change to the organization
