Job Summary
This Architectural and Engineering Associate role is ideal for a self-motivated individual with a solid understanding of technical aspects in compiling architectural and construction documents for electric vehicle (EV) charging station projects. You'll leverage your knowledge of site development and construction document creation, including drawings and specifications, to independently manage project components from design conception through construction. The ability to learn quickly and grasp the full project scope with minimal supervision is essential.
Responsibilities
- Oversee multiple EV charging station development projects concurrently.
- Collaborate with and provide guidance to a team of personnel involved in EV charger design and installation.
- Actively participate in scheduling, quality control, and budget management for EV charging infrastructure projects.
- Support the creation of detailed design plans and construction documents for EV charging stations.
- Research, analyze, and select appropriate EV charger components and materials based on project specifications.
- Develop a foundational knowledge of tenant development work, space planning, and code analysis specific to EV charging stations (EVCI).
- Contribute creative ideas for the design of assigned EV charging station projects.
- Assist in monitoring the scope, schedule, and budget related to the architectural aspects of EV charging station projects.
- Participate in developing architectural work plans, tasking assignments, and providing supervision and mentorship to personnel involved in EV charger projects.
- Review shop drawings, assemble requests for proposals (RFPs), manage change orders, and prepare closeout documentation for EV charging station construction.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn and utilize CADD, Revit, or other relevant software programs for EV charging infrastructure design.
- Support the firm's QA/QC program by ensuring adherence to architectural design standards for assigned EV charging station projects.
- Perform assigned tasks to contribute to the smooth operation of the EV charging station development team.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of production standards for EV charging station projects.
- Potentially assist with site visits and project measurements for EV charging station installations, as required.
- Perform other relevant tasks as directed or become apparent in the course of EV charging station development projects.
Qualifications
- Engineering & Technology: 1-2 years experience in civil or electrical engineering design and development of EV charging station projects. Knowledge of engineering principles and technology to design and implement solutions.
- Technical Design: Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles to create precise technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and 3D models for EV charging infrastructure.
- Strong Mathematical Skills: Proficiency in arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, and statistics with the ability to apply them to solve complex engineering problems related to EV charging stations.
- Project Management: Understanding of business and management principles to strategic planning, resource allocation, and coordinating personnel and resources for EV charging infrastructure projects.
- Critical Thinking & Problem Solving: Ability to identify challenges and analyze relevant information to develop, evaluate, and implement effective solutions for EV charging station design and construction.
- Excellent Communication: Ability to actively listen to colleagues, comprehend information clearly, ask clarifying questions, and effectively convey complex technical details related to EV charging stations.
- Complex Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and analyze intricate issues surrounding EV charging infrastructure, developing and evaluating potential solutions before implementing the most suitable option.
- Judgment & Decision-Making: Ability to weigh the costs and benefits of various options to make informed and effective decisions regarding EV charging station design and development.
- Collaboration & Coordination: Ability to seamlessly collaborate and adjust work to ensure effective teamwork in achieving project goals for EV charging stations.
- Education & Experience: A professional degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Design is preferred, with 1-2 years of relevant experience. Professional engineering or architectural registration is not required.
