ABOUT YOU AND THE ROLE
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated purchasing intern to support our deployment, engineering, and production teams in the sourcing of components and assemblies. As a purchasing intern you will support purchasing, planning, and delivery tracking of materials needed for our battery, vehicle and swapping systems. In this role, you will support our supply chain teams in enabling the end-to-end procurement transactions and assist the team in various purchasing processes and systems to achieve our ambitious mission of electrifying vehicles globally. The role requires cross-functional engagement and execution within Ample and across the extended global supply chain.WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Support efforts to source various components, systems, and hardware
- Manage quick turn R&D builds by sourcing key components and coordinating on time delivery to meet our timelines
- Execute purchase requisitions to place Purchase Orders as and when needed and manage purchase orders through invoicing and delivery.
- Maintain accurate open Purchase Order lines with the inbound quantities and due dates from vendors.
- Apply analytics and supply chain expertise to manage vendors and delivery schedules.
- Act as the primary interface with suppliers on delivery status, issues, and resolution.
- Support in component shipments and inventory management of components that are sent to suppliers.
- Work with suppliers in procurement of off-the-shelf parts and manufactured parts ensuring proper authorization of the spend.
- Navigate to a dynamic environment of rolling / changing build plans.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Supply chain management, engineering, or related field required; preferably within some international supply chain experience
- An understanding of purchasing and supply chain management, with the ability to apply the concepts in the real world
- Experience in project management
- Excellent customer services skills
- Initiative to scope, start and drive projects and tasks to completion
- Ability to openly seek advice, guidance and enlist support, as needed
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to work with minimum supervision on complex, non-standard responsibilities
