Scout Motors Internship Program
We will provide aspiring professionals with a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with our talented, inclusive, and entrepreneurial teams. Undergraduate Interns will immerse themselves in the EV landscape, gaining exposure to the latest trends, technologies, and market dynamics. Interns will be assigned meaningful projects aligned with Scout’s goals. These projects will challenge interns to apply their academic knowledge in real-world scenarios, fostering problem-solving skills and creativity while working under the mentorship of our leaders.
This program is designed for current undergraduate students who live in our local market. Please note that no housing stipend is provided.
2024 Internship Program Overview
- Schedule: The program is anticipated to run mid-May to mid-August 2024
- Duration: Our internship program runs approximately 12 weeks, with the official end date varying dependent upon student needs and the start of respective Fall academic calendars
- Transportation + Housing: our Interns will be responsible for providing their own housing and transportation
Important Notes:
- Scout Motors will not provide relocation or sponsorship as part of our Internship program
- High preference for currently enrolled Juniors or Seniors majoring in Marketing, Communications, or a similar field
- Deadline: applications for the program must be received no later than April 30, 2024.
Location & Travel Expectations: This role is on-site, and will be based out of our Scout Motors location in Tysons, VA. The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly.
Housing & Sponsorship: Scout Motors does not provide visa sponsorship or housing assistance for internship positions.
About the team
The Scout Finance team is a multifaceted group responsible for managing the financial aspects of the business to ensure stability, growth, and compliance. Comprising various sub-teams such as Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Accounting, Treasury, Insurance, Tax, Customs, and Payroll, our responsibilities encompass financial forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning, as well as recording transactions, preparing financial statements, managing cash flow, and mitigating risks. Our overarching goals include optimizing financial performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting strategic decision-making, managing risks, driving cost efficiencies, and effectively communicating financial information to stakeholders. By executing these responsibilities and achieving our goals, our team plays a pivotal role in driving the long-term success and sustainability of the company.
Daily Responsibilities of the Internship Program include
- Gain a 360 degree view of the finance team
- Assist in streamlining operations by documenting cross-functional processes, crafting intuitive instructions and dynamic flow charts
- Curate engaging resources for dissemination on the company intranet

- Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program for Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field as a Sophomore or higher
- Must be able to work from Tysons, VA in the Scout Motors office from mid-May to mid-August 2024.
- Must have proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)

Pay Transparency
This is a paid internship program.
Initial base salary range = $20.00 per hour
Internal leveling code: INTN
