Tesla is hiring a Demand Planning Analyst for Energy Service Material Planning to manage and improve demand forecasting of Service Parts and Accessories for its Energy Service Business_ Unit. This role is responsible for improving forecast accuracy on key commodities and programs, identifying inefficiencies in demand planning processes and designing innovative solutions that highlight key demand drivers for all categories of Service Parts and Accessories. The Demand Planning Analyst will operate in a highly cross-functional team environment involving Supply Chain, Marketing, Product Management and Engineering and provide reliable and timely demand plans to ensure the right service parts are available at the right place at the right time in the right quantity.
What You'll Do
Create and manage short- and long-term demand forecasts for Service Parts and Accessories that help optimize inventory levels at worldwide distribution centers, lower the cost of operation, and improve overall customer satisfaction levelsCollaborate with Global Supply Managers, Field Operations, Inventory Management, NPI, Production Demand Planning, Reliability Engineering, Service Campaigns and Marketing Teams to gather data and bring information on key business drivers that impact the future demand on Service Parts and AccessoriesAnalyze the detailed historical consumption data by channel by region and highlight trends and patterns in consumption by applying advanced Statistical Models and Time Series AnalysisDevelop programs in statistical computing and graphics and apply advanced supply chain analytics to resolve inefficiencies in demand forecasting process, identify opportunities for forecast accuracy improvement and provide business insights and additional perspectives to Manager of Energy Material Planning and Service Supply Chain leadershipCollaborate with NPI, Reliability Engineering and Procurement teams to plan for material End-of-Life (EOL) transition planning with the goal to ensure reliable long-term service coverage while minimizing excess and obsolescence
What You'll Bring
Master’s Degree in Statistics, Operations Research, Supply Chain Management, Industrial or Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Engineering or equivalent experience or evidence of exceptional ability in these fields1–2 years of experience in demand planning, supply chain analytics, or data science within a manufacturing or high-volume operations environment, with a proven track record in consumption-based forecast model development and validationMust demonstrate strong mathematical and statistical knowledge relevant to Supply Chain or Operations analyticsStrong proficiency in MS Excel and competency in SQL required. Experience in ERP/WRP systems and data visualization programs such as Tableau or Power BI are preferredExperience with Python (Pandas, NumPy) preferredAble to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritizing tasks based on demand despite changes in work scope or focus Passionate and high energy, with strong spoken and written communication skills to positively influence othersOpen-minded, collaborative and team-oriented attitude with the ability to think outside the box for solutions to complex challengesSelf-motivation, strong work ethic, and a passion for being hands-on in their work
