We are looking for a skilled Vehicle Dynamics CAE Engineer responsible for the creation, application, and validation of vehicle dynamics simulation models (MBS models) to support full vehicle development.
The role focuses on analyzing and optimizing vehicle behavior with respect to handling and ride comfort. This includes translating simulation results into clear technical insights and recommendations for the engineering teams
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
- Creation of MBS models for full vehicle and system/suspension-level simulations.
- Execute vehicle dynamics simulations covering key performance attributes of handling, ride comfort, drivability, and steering behavior.
- Evaluate the kinematic and compliance behavior of the chassis to define appropriate kinematic hardpoints and stiffness requirements for bushings and structural components.
- Analyze simulation and test results and assess performance against defined targets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, testing, controls) to align targets and implement improvements.
- Support virtual vehicle tuning and suspension/chassis development
Key Deliverables
- MBS simulation models (full vehicle & system level).
- Simulation result reports with comparison against targets and proposals for vehicle dynamics optimization measures.
- Root cause analyses for performance deviations and proposals for countermeasures.
- System and component-level targets cascaded from full vehicle targets.
- Guidelines for development and simulation processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automotive, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in vehicle dynamics and suspension development.
- Extensive experience with relevant tools such as MSC Adams / Adams Car, AVL VSM, IPG CarMaker, and MATLAB/Simulink.
- Strong understanding of suspension kinematics and compliance behavior and their interaction with vehicle dynamics.
- Knowledge of tire modeling (empirical and physical models).
- Experience in model correlation with measurement data and the ability to interpret results.
