About the Role
The General Manager – Manufacturing is responsible for leading the overall manufacturing operations to ensure world-class performance in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people development. This role will oversee all plant functions, including production, quality, engineering, maintenance, logistics, and continuous improvement, while ensuring alignment with BYD’s global manufacturing standards and local business objectives.
The incumbent is expected to possess extensive automotive manufacturing experience and a strong understanding of the Indonesian automotive industry, including market trends, customer demand, sales dynamics, and competitive landscape, enabling effective production planning and operational decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Lead overall manufacturing and plant operations.
- Ensure production targets for safety, quality, cost, and delivery are achieved.
- Manage cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Logistics.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity and operational efficiency.
- Work closely with Supply Chain, and other business functions to align production with market demand.
- Monitor plant performance and implement strategies to optimize cost, quality, and productivity.
- Develop and coach high-performing teams while fostering a culture of safety and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the automotive industry, with significant experience in manufacturing leadership，5 years related experience as General Manager.
- Strong knowledge of automotive manufacturing operations and the Indonesian automotive market.
- Proven leadership and people or corporate management skills.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement is preferred.
- Fluent in English
