What To Expect
The EMEA Construction Procurement team selects and acquires goods and services to complete the construction and fit out of Tesla’s Sales, Service and Delivery (SSD) locations across EMEA, Africa and the Middle East. The team is responsible for the complete procurement lifecycle of the construction projects, including pre-qualification of vendors, compliance, tendering and project award. By leveraging in-house procurement tools, we drive efficiencies and strategic sourcing to enhance cost-effectiveness.
As the commodity buyer, you will join the Construction Procurement team in an inaugural position. A truly first of its kind role. In this role, you will support internal stakeholders in the procurement of goods and services essential to the fit out of Tesla’s SSD locations. You’ll lead in sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships to ensure full compliancy, efficient supply chains and best in market pricing.
What You'll Do
Sourcing
Develop sourcing strategies, including localization, aligned with business and local market needs Own and run RFQ’s for sourcing assigned commodities/services, including pre-qualification of suppliers, review and negotiate supplier quotations to contract award and management Analyze pricing and develop cost breakdowns ensuring the most cost-effective options are achieved Make and present recommendations to award after performing a detailed bid analysis ensuring identical scope inclusion for all bids.
Data Analysis
Creation of commodity sourcing plans from scratch based on historical data and identified opportunities Analyze spend data to identify procurement opportunities (Consolidation of suppliers, Contract creation, Drive economies of scale) Monitor market trends and conditions, reviewing supply and demand challenges and opportunities Identify cost-saving and cost-avoidance opportunities
Contract Management
Adhere to inhouse policies for sourcing requests, sourcing & contracting approvals by using inhouse developed procurement tools such as Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), ERP system and RFQ tool Ensures compliance with contract renewal and drives re-tendering when greater value can be achieved
Stakeholder Management
Develop strong stakeholder support and cooperation on assigned commodities Maintain and develop strong supplier relationships, to source and contract goods, services and works that contribute to the expansion of Tesla’s portfolio Manage and develop onboarded suppliers by demonstrating strong supplier relationship management.
What You'll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain or a related field or equivalent experience with evidence of exceptional ability Strong, demonstrable experience in a senior supply chain/procurement/purchasing roles. Experience in construction (procurement) is a big plus. Highly organized, able to manage multiple projects in various phases simultaneously with various stakeholders Open-minded self-starter with the ability to adapt, improvise and problem solve Track record of working independently to drive change and deliver value Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and data accuracy. Strong analytical and judgment skills. Demonstrated ability to identify business process issues and drive process improvement. Proven ability of supplier and stakeholder relationship management. Strong negotiation and contract management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent verbal and written ability in English language, and ideally another European language
