🚨 We’re hiring: Computer Vision / Senior Autonomy Engineer | Applied Intuition | London
We’re continuing to build out the Applied Intuition team here in London, and one of the key roles we’re hiring for is a Computer Vision / Senior Autonomy Engineer.
This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to build, test and deploy real autonomy capability into mission-critical defence environments.
This is not a pure research role, and it is not just model prototyping either.
We’re looking for someone who can take ML and computer vision models through the full development cycle, from prototyping and evaluation through to optimisation, deployment and system-level performance.
The role will involve things like:
• Prototyping, evaluating and deploying ML algorithms for defence use cases
• Working across computer vision, perception and autonomy
• Building and improving deep learning models
• Developing input pipelines, evaluation methods and model optimisation approaches
• Working closely with perception and planning engineers
• Translating customer and product requirements into technical solutions
• Writing production software in C++ and/or Python
• Testing, debugging and improving model performance in real-world autonomy systems
• Supporting junior engineers as the UK team grows
We’re particularly interested in people who have worked in computer vision, perception, deep learning, autonomy, robotics, drones, aerospace or defence environments.
This would suit someone who has built real software and ML systems, not just experiments or demos.
Useful experience would include:
• Useful experience would include:
• Computer vision, perception or deep learning
• Object detection, tracking or segmentation
• ML model development, evaluation and deployment
• C++ and/or Python
• PyTorch, TensorFlow or OpenCV
• Real-time or embedded systems
• Robotics, drones, aerospace or defence
• SIL / HIL or real-world autonomy testing
Nice to have, but not essential:
• Publications in computer vision, robotics or machine learning
• Experience with drones or flight computers such as PX4
• Experience improving system-in-the-loop model performance
• Current or previous UK Security Clearance
What matters most is that you are a strong engineer, comfortable working across ML and production software, and excited by the idea of building real autonomy capability for defence use cases.
This would suit someone ambitious, hands-on and low ego who wants to work in a small, high-impact team helping shape Applied Intuition’s UK engineering capability.
