Scope of Position
PowerFlex, an EDF Renewables company, is a leading national provider of intelligent onsite energy solutions that support carbon-free electrification and transportation. We are looking for bright undergraduate students who are eager to learn about solar, energy storage, and electric vehicle (EV) charging policy, financing, and construction. This position will learn how to assess the feasibility of PowerFlex business opportunities with clients, discover new ways to financially structure projects, and build on their understanding of how solar energy, energy storage and EVs are being deployed throughout the U.S.
This Intern will be a part of the Business Development Analyst team, which is accountable for providing support for the origination efforts of the company. The program is an opportunity to take your career to the next level through hands-on experience, relevant skills training and valuable professional networking.
Responsibilities
- 40% - Assist in preparing project presentation materials, solar financial analyses and marketing outreach materials
- 20% - Client research, prospect assessment and review
- 15% - Communicate with the Business Development team to convey research and findings
- 15% - Policy and public database research
- 10% Conduct independent research to improve our services and offerings
Qualifications
Education/Experience
- Currently pursuing Bachelor’s Degree (preferably rising Junior or Senior) in economics, government, finance, sustainability or a related field
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Motivated self-starter with good commercial perspective
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and to work under pressure while maintaining a high attention to detail
- Available to work in our NYC headquarters (hybrid in-office environment) for the entirety of the internship (8-10 weeks, full time)
- Knowledge or coursework on environmental studies, energy economics, finance or sustainability
- Confidence and initiative to take on responsibility and manage your own projects
- Foundational knowledge of Excel modeling/tools creation, PowerPoint, Word and/or Salesforce
- Ability to interact with and build relationships with people from different departments and levels of seniority
