Scope of Position

Through the comprehensive PowerFlex X platform, PowerFlex leverages patented smart software to control, monitor, and optimize a client's distributed energy resources to reduce cost and maximize return on investment.The Human Resources Manager will oversee and lead a comprehensive range of functions aimed at supporting PowerFlex employees and contributing to the overall success of the HR function. Reporting directly to the Director of HR, the HR Manager will oversee and lead a team of HR professionals, providing guidance, support, and direction in their respective areas of expertise.The HR Manager will support the full scope of HR responsibilities and partner with the Director, Human Resources on strategic initiatives. This pivotal role extends its support to all PowerFlex locations, including remote employees. The HR Manager is instrumental in ensuring that our organization's employees have a dedicated and knowledgeable point of contact for guidance, support, and expertise across various HR areas while ensuring compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee various functions of HR and corresponding personnel
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries, providing information and assistance on HR-related matters. Address employee questions, concerns, and requests, ensuring timely and effective resolutions. Bridge management and employee relations by addressing issues.
- Ensure overall organizational compliance with all local, state, and federal employment laws.
- Manage employee leaves of absence, including FMLA, disability, and personal leaves. Ensure strict compliance with all local, state and federal employment laws and regulations. Accurately communicate employee information to payroll department for processing.
- Provide support for employee benefit programs. Efficiently assist employees with benefit inquiries and accurately resolve benefit-related issues.
- Support employee development by assisting with employee training programs and professional development/performance management initiatives. Review, track and support compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training.
- Develop and manage employee perks and recognition programs to enhance job satisfaction and engagement. Collaborate with departments to promote a positive work environment.
- Partner with Director, HR on employee engagement initiatives. Provide recommendations to further enhance company culture.
- Manage the contingent workforce, including contractors, temporary employees, and freelancers. Ensure that contingent workforce practices align with company policies and compliance standards.
- Oversee immigration and visa processes for employees as well as local employment programs (e.g. NYSERDA/VIE). Ensure compliance with immigration laws and regulations.
- Manage HR SharePoint in a timely manner and collaborate with HR team to ensure efficient information sharing and accessibility for all HR areas.
- Supports the talent acquisition process by interviewing candidates and providing input on selecting the most qualified candidate for the role. Conduct and analyze exit interviews and make actionable recommendations based on data.
- Oversee workers' compensation programs and claims processing. Collaborate with insurance providers and legal counsel/EDF as needed.
- Foster positive relationships with various departments to address HR-related needs.
- Support the HR team in maintaining best in class service levels (internal customer relationships, ER matter resolution, HR team service request response times, project tracking efficiency, project time completion, etc.)
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of progressive human resources experience
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Proven experience in human resources, including benefit administration, leave management and compliance.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Proficiency in using office software and human resources management systems.
- Strong knowledge of leave of absence procedures, to include all applicable federal, state, and local leave of absence laws and regulations.
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Flexibility to respond to employee-related issues.
- Customer service orientated approach in handling all employee interactions.
