Sales & Business Development Manager (UK - Residential Energy Storage)
About the Role
As a Sales & Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in driving BYD’s growth in the UK residential energy storage market by developing and expanding the installer and distribution network, identifying project opportunities, and supporting strong product adoption through both technical and commercial engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Installer & Channel Development
- Identify, approach, and onboard new solar installers, EPCs, distributors, and partners across the UK
- Develop structured account plans for key partners, including segmentation, growth strategy, and penetration targets
Sales & Project Development
- Drive end-to-end sales opportunities from lead generation to deal closure
- Identify residential and small commercial project opportunities through industry networks
- Support installers in winning projects through commercial and technical solutions
- Grow existing accounts to increase product penetration and revenue contribution
Technical Product Enablement
- Deliver product presentations, and solution workshops for installers and partners
- Support system design understanding, configuration guidance, and product positioning
- Act as the interface between customers and technical teams to ensure smooth project delivery
Market Intelligence & Execution
- Monitor UK energy storage market trends, competitor activity, and installer ecosystem development
- Identify new market opportunities and provide insights to internal teams
- Track pipeline performance and account development progress
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in solar PV, energy storage, or renewable energy sales
- Strong network within UK installers, EPCs, distributors, or solar industry partners
- Strong commercial negotiation and technical communication skills
- Willingness to travel frequently across the UK and occasionally internationally
- Valid UK Class B driving licence is mandatory
- Native-level English communication skills
