Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Sr. Technical Program Manager to join the Battery Pack Manufacturing team. You will manage program execution from product design to factory operations, collaborating with world-class engineers who design and manufacture high-volume battery lines.
The role requires a highly organized mindset, passion for launching new technologies, and exceptional ability to unite teams for results. Our manufacturing processes and schedules push physical limits, demanding extreme attention to detail while driving cross-functional teams to execute quickly and at high quality. You will foster collaboration across design engineering, manufacturing, quality, facilities, and production to align with company priorities. Additionally, you will understand project opportunities, challenges, and dependencies; translate scattered information into concise, complete messages; and communicate them to every team member. As the business process development lead, you will develop, maintain, and implement tools and processes to accelerate battery manufacturing execution, achieve cross-functional alignment, and deliver highly efficient systems.
What You'll Do
Manage cross-functional teams to ensure successful launches of new manufacturing linesCollaborate with global teams to develop novel and complex automation equipmentCreate, maintain, and communicate schedules and plans for battery manufacturing projects, including process development, validation, line design, equipment fabrication, FAT, shipping, SAT, and SOPPrepare roll-up information and reports for senior leadership on project status, blockers, and changesCoordinate build milestones with Manufacturing Engineering, Facilities, and Production teamsTrack equipment readiness, project costs, and drive cost management improvementsProvide technical leadership and project management to identify creative, timely solutions to key program challenges
What You'll Bring
5+ years of experience in a mix of engineering and project management fieldsCan communicate with technical and non-technical team members effectivelyWorks well under pressure and manages conflicting priorities with easeAbility to work cross-functionally, manage large teams, and adapt to changes quicklyExperience with high-volume manufacturing and new product introductionDegree in Engineering, or equivalent experience
