What To Expect
Due to continued growth in our Utility Scale Battery Storage (Megapack) Business we are seeking a Project Manager to join the Local Deployment team in APAC, this role will be based in South or West Australia but will support a portfolio of projects and will report into the Local EPC Program Manager.
The Project Manager is ultimately responsible for the safe and compliant engineering, design, construction and commissioning of Utility scale storage projects assigned to them within Tesla deployment portfolio within time, quality and cost constraints, including a high-quality hand over to the Tesla Service team.
The ideal candidate will have solid hands-on experience managing infrastructure large civil or commercial building projects; demonstrates initiative, clear-headed problem solving, and mastery of the tactical detail for each project.
Finally, you’ll bring high energy and an optimistic approach towards driving each project to completion, within a dynamic team and business environment.
What You'll Do
Responsible for project ownership and execution, which requires understanding/managing the scope and schedule and keeping all parties in sync.Overall management of EPC sub-contractors for all phases of construction of projects including design, construction, commissioning, and completionUnderstand and manage the grid connection agreement during construction and testing phasesInterface with and manage internal and external stakeholders, from contracting stage through execution and handover to ServiceIdentify gaps in scope and responsibility to ensure project success. This requires a comprehensive understanding of engineering, construction, and permitting concepts and rules of conductWhere relevant, support the finance team and supply information to ensure Tesla’s overall compliance with the internal agreements and targets Ensure all works of Tesla employees and contractors are carried out in a safe, high quality, efficient manner in the spirit of continuous improvementAdhere to contractual conditions to ensure compliance and Tesla’s subsequent compliance with upstream agreementsPrepare regular reports on project status and risk
What You'll Bring
Engineering degree (Civil Preferred), Tertiary qualifications or relevant work experience 5+ years of end-to-end experience in ConstructionExperience in delivering projects in Renewable energy, Power distribution or UtilitiesAbility to travel up to 50% of the time (mostly local travel but occasionally international travel will be required)Knowledge of construction contracts, subcontracts, and the bid processAbility to manage field construction activities and resources. Basic knowledge of Electrical infrastructure Ability to manage several projects and prioritiseHighly motivated self-starterAbility to work cross functionally with engineering, business development, and construction personnel.Experience managing matrixed project teams.Excellent communication and documentation skills
