What You Will Be Doing
We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented QA Engineer to join the ChargePoint QA Team. In this role, you will help uphold quality standards across our product ecosystem by developing automation tests and maintaining test infrastructure to drive stability, reliability, and clear reporting. You will collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to design test plans, identify areas for automation, and write and execute test cases for ChargePoint’s web and mobile applications. The ideal candidate is a strong team player with excellent communication skills, a creative mindset, and a data-driven, results-oriented approach.
What You Will Bring To ChargePoint
- Define and execute end-to-end QA strategies for both Web and Mobile applications, incorporating a balance of manual and automated testing approaches.
- Deep understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes, with a strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
- Lead the planning, design, and execution of comprehensive test cases for new and existing features across mobile (iOS/Android) and web platforms.
- Develop, maintain, and scale robust automated test frameworks for mobile applications.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with developers, product managers, and designers to review requirements, provide early feedback, and ensure testability throughout the development lifecycle.
- Investigate and drive root cause analysis for defects and performance issues in mobile and web applications and recommend corrective actions.
- Mentor and support junior QA engineers, fostering a culture of quality and encouraging adoption of best practices in mobile and web testing.
- Contribute to release planning, perform regression testing, and lead quality sign-off activities for mobile and web app releases.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on QA for various projects and initiatives, providing technical leadership and guidance where needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, with at least 2-3 years focused on mobile application testing.
- Strong hands-on experience with mobile test automation tools such as Appium or similar.
- Proficient in test automation frameworks using languages like Java, Python.
- Experience with mobile CI/CD tools and integration with test pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
- Familiarity with REST APIs and backend validation using tools like Postman or Charles Proxy.
- Deep understanding of mobile platforms, performance testing, and debugging tools (e.g., adb, Xcode, Android Studio).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven track record of leading QA efforts for multiple successful mobile product releases.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with crash reporting tools (e.g., Firebase Crashlytics, Sentry).
- Knowledge of accessibility testing for mobile apps.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and Jira/TestRail for test management.
- Experience working in a fast-paced startup or scaled agile environment.
- Working knowledge of using AI in Testing and Automation is desirable.
