What To Expect
As a Cabin Systems Engineer in Tesla's Cabin Engineering Department, you will play a pivotal role in the design and engineering of vehicle cabin systems from concept to end-of-life, while addressing challenges with existing products. This role involves working on major commodities such as mechanical systems (structural components, mechanisms, soft and hard trims) and mechatronics elements (wire harnesses, controllers, sensors, and software). System validation is a critical component of success in this position. Team members are expected to leverage specialized skills for core engineering tasks while adopting a multidisciplinary approach to support the broader team.
What You'll Do
Define problems and develop innovative concepts and solutions for vehicle cabin systemsValidate and optimize designs by generating comprehensive design validation plans (DVPs), and engage in prototyping, physical testing, CAE simulations, and design reviewsBalance and manage product attributes including safety, functionality, comfort, aesthetics, cost, mass, schedule, and sustainabilityCreate 3D models, 2D drawings, and bills of materialsExecute detailed design with a focus on datum and fixation strategies, GD&T, and DFM principlesApply understanding of material science to ensure proper selection and application of materials for relevant systemsGenerate DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) for systems under development
What You'll Bring

Expected Compensation
$92,720 - $206,520/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
