Role SummaryThis is a fantastic opportunity to shape the physical design of Rivian’s electric vehicle systems!
We’re looking for a highly motivated, multi-disciplined mechanical design & release engineer to
help us design and develop Exterior components on current and future Rivian Models.
Responsibilities- Design, Develop, and release Exterior Components including, but not limited to Claddings,
Wheel Liners, Flares, Underbody Panels, etc. - Use engineering fundamentals to expand your knowledge in various manufacturing processes
such as injection molding, compression molding, 2-shot molding, overmolding etc. - Work with the studio team to provide feedback and generate high quality A-surfaces that meet
all DFM requirements while keeping with the theme of the vehicle - Use first principle driven design direction in order to develop exterior components that is best
for the product overall - Communicate effectively with cross functional groups managing several parts, changes, and
processes at a time. - Create different CAD concepts for issues, detailed 2D sections and concept 3D CAD during
initial development - Work with cross functional teams to solve problems and develop designs that meets
requirements of the system as a whole
Qualifications- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering plus 2+ years of relevant design
experience, or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering. (Preferred) - 1-2 examples of Design Internship experience or similar Catia v5 / v6 operative skills, or similar CAD experience, to be able to demonstrate applied knowledge and use of similar tools.
- Hands on experience in design through manufacturing/fabrication process, either in curriculum, or extra curricular projects.
Generation of 3D geometry & sectional data Involvement in process improvements. - Highly motivated with good logical reasoning. Strong numeracy & literacy with good
organizational & communication skills. Proactive to prevent issues and delays. - A desire to strive for improvements to achieve high customer satisfaction.
Pay DisclosureSalary Range Irvine-Based Applicants: $85,600-$107,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, and other factors permitted by law).
