Role Summary Autonomy & AI development relies directly on Rivian Data Platform’s ability to log the sensor, telemetry,
diagnostics data from the cars at scale to understand the environment in which our cars operate, discover
interesting and challenging scenarios for AI training, simulation, and evaluation.
Responsibilities- In this role, you will be responsible for capturing rich data from both our testing vehicles as well as
the large customer fleet to support requirements for AI/ML training and software evaluation. You
will work closely with our vehicle and telecommunications teams to manage uploads over cellular
and wifi, and be responsible for cost efficiency and latency. You will work closely with our cloud
engineering teams to ensure that data uploaded is complete, high quality, and usable for training,
simulation & evaluation needs. - As Rivian scales, determining what data & meta-data to log will be critical. You will help build a
platform and put in processes to ensure efficiencies in uploading logs sampled only by their
importance to the program. - As the guardian of Rivian’s data, you will ensure that our data collection is compliant with our
privacy policy and safeguards our customers' trust as they share vehicle data. - The person we are looking for should quickly understand our engineering process and needs,
and be able to provide immediate solutions to unblock critical work, but at the same time balance
long term vision and systemic platform improvements to help Rivian Autonomy Platform scale.
Qualifications- B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, or STEM field.
- 8+ years experience in AI or ML driven consumer or enterprise Product Management
Experience leading significant products or platforms working closely with engineering, design,
analytics teams. You should have crafted product vision & strategies, written product
requirements, coordinated with marketing, legal, privacy, policy, etc. - Strong history of analyzing large scale data, statistical thinking, and bringing everyone to make
data driven decisions. - Great communicator and has the ability to drive extreme clarity.
- Experience in Autonomy is not necessary, but an innate passion and a missionary zeal to make
roads safer is an absolute requirement.
Pay DisclosureSalary Range for California Based Applicants: $167,400-$209,300(actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
