We are seeking an experienced and strategic leaderwithin the Direct Procurement organization to lead cost reductions on both our Lucid Air and Gravity programs, and tariff strategies on all programs including Midsize platform. This role is pivotal to ensure that we meet both our direct materials BOM cost targets, but also mitigate tariff and logistics costs in our supplier selection. This role will support all commodities on the vehicle and will consist of program managers, analysts, and perhaps GSMs focused on just these cost reduction activities.
Key Responsibilities - Develop and Lead Strategy:
- Design and implement cost reduction strategies across procurement, logistics, manufacturing, and inventory management.
- Set clear KPIs and cost-saving targets aligned with overall business goals and other key functions.
- Identify cost-reduction opportunities through strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and process improvements. Either take on the action to move forward on the strategy or partner with the Direct Procurement team to drive closure and execution.
- Lead or participate in key supplier negotiations in support of your objectives
- Supply Chain Optimization:
- Analyze supply chain process and identify inefficiencies, waste, and cost drivers.
- Optimize supplier networks, lead times, and transportation modes.
- Evaluate changing tariff situation and develop a robust / non-regrettable plan to mitigate tariffs and reduce impacts
- Vendor and Supplier Management:
- Partner with procurement to negotiate better terms and reduce total cost of ownership (TCO).
- Assess supplier performance and consolidate supplier base where appropriate.
- Assess “Should Cost” opportunities, and develop negotiation strategies for savings – this can include direct negotiations with current suppliers or transitions to new suppliers if justified
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including R&D, Engineering, Supplier Quality, Material Planning, Program Management, Manufacturing, and Finance to support Supply Chain and other department initiatives – most teams will still need to partner with Procurement for execution actions
- Act as a key advisor to executive leadership and our board on strategies and status
- Analytics & Reporting:
- Monitor and report on key procurement KPIs (cost savings, timing, etc.).
- Conduct market analysis, benchmarking, and total cost of ownership evaluations.
- Develop dashboards, and link actions to individual GSM KPI’s
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive procurement experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership Direct Procurement role within the automotive industry.
- Strong knowledge of global sourcing, supplier management, contract negotiations, and automotive industry regulations.
- Proven track record of delivering cost savings, supply chain resilience, and supplier innovation.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Familiarity with procurement software and ERP systems (SAP, Coupa, etc.).
Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.

The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs. Base Pay Range (Annual)
$195,100—$286,110 USD
