Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Service Operations Engineer to take on a combined role that integrates both field service and advanced technical support responsibilities. This position requires a versatile individual who can provide hands-on technical expertise on-site while also troubleshooting and resolving complex issues as the highest level of support within the Service Engineering department.
Responsibilities
- Perform on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of equipment at customer locations.
- Plan, schedule, track, and control field visits conducted by internal teams or external subcontractors.
- Review and evaluate attached technical reports submitted by subcontractors.
- Diagnose and resolve complex hardware issues, working with intricate systems and technologies.
- Conduct system updates, and calibrations to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Provide technical support and training to subcontractor techs, ensuring they are equipped to use the systems effectively.
- Serve as the final escalation point for technical issues, analyzing and resolving the most challenging problems.
- Collaborate with engineering and development teams to identify, troubleshoot, and fix product defects or system inefficiencies.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of diagnostic tools, procedures, and knowledge base content.
- Manage service activities and maintain detailed documentation of issues, resolutions, and service reports.
- Ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of service operations, bridging the gap between field and support functions.
- Participate in new product or feature rollouts, ensuring technical readiness.
- Maintain and adhere to safety standards and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements while performing on-site or lab tasks.
Requirements, Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).
- 2+ years of experience in product technical support, validation, testing, or field service.
- Proven experience in both field service and advanced technical support roles.
- Strong technical expertise in diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware issues.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with external and internal teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in both field and office-based settings.
- Proficient in using remote diagnostics tools and providing virtual support.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong knowledge and experience using tools such as Salesforce, Microsoft Office, and other related tools for tracking, reporting, and documentation.
- Strong knowledge of US electrical standards and regulations.
- Effective problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Interest in renewable energy and EV technologies.
- A flexible and adaptable mindset.
- Eligibility to work within the US and willingness to travel when required.
Nice To Have
- Master’s degree in a technical field.
- Experience in electronics testing or backend/iOS & Android testing.
- Multilingual skills beyond English.
- Knowledge of project management tools or methodologies.
- Experience using ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, Service Desk).
