Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer - Temporary position is responsible for design, modification, and optimization of current and new equipment and fixtures in the Springboro location. The individual is responsible for defining, documenting, and testing the equipment. This individual will work closely with the Senior Manufacturing Engineer to establish cycle times, process changes, documentation, and material flow.
Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of error-proofing measures for nut runner positioning and torque settings to enhance assembly accuracy and reduce defects.
- Drive productivity improvements through the development and deployment of an advanced tool bit detection system, minimizing downtime and operator error.
- Conduct regular reviews of current processes and systems to identify inefficiencies and recommend actionable improvements.
- Execute necessary engineering changes, ensuring seamless integration into existing processes and minimal disruption to production.
- Design and implement robust plans to support JB VA/VE BDU initiatives, including fixture design, procurement, process optimization, and programming support.
- Spearhead the transition to Core BCA with ABS-assembled BDU by replacing vendor-supplied units, leading process development and programming integration for a smoother in-house assembly workflow.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate Process failure Modes & Effects Analysis (PFMEA), process flow diagrams, and work instructions to align with evolving operational and quality standards.
- Champion continuous improvement projects targeting quality enhancement and productivity gains.
- Adhere to federal and state regulations.
- Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures.
- Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Position Qualifications
- Must be actively enrolled in classes to earn a B.S. or higher in Engineering Degree.
- The ability to use AutoCAD for equipment layouts within the facility is a plus.
- Experience and knowledge working with basic mechanical tools.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Software, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously.
- Exceptional phone etiquette and capacity to always provide exceptional customer service.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

- Must be able to bend, lift, stretch, stoop, push, pull, stand, and carry as needed to inspect, service, and operate machinery, equipment, and gauges.
- Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines and inspect parts produced.
- Ability to maintain single-task focus and situational awareness.
- The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day.
