Work Arrangement: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Pontiac on a full-time basis.
The Role
In this exciting new role, you will be part of a highly motivated team of individuals that will specialize in the safe and orderly shipping, receiving, crating, uncrating and preliminary testing of Rechargeable Energy Storage System (RESS) also known as EV battery packs in support of our RESS root cause team.
What You'll Do
- Ensure safe and efficient handling of high-voltage EV battery assemblies and related components, including shipping, receiving, storage, crating/uncrating, scheduling and initial pre-checks for the high-voltage battery packs.
- Perform physical duties involving moving large HV EV batteries around the facility, shipping and disposal.
- Operation and use of forklifts, overhead cranes and rigging equipment.
- Ensure the integrity of inventory accuracy and manage stock movements.
- Coordinate the packaging, tracking and shipment of root cause components to suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Support the creation of Standard Operating Procedures for processes and procedures to improve safety and efficiency.
- Actively participate and sustain workplace organization practices.
- Provide Logistic support to Field Response Deployment Team.
- Close Collaboration and teamwork with dock and RESS/module root cause teams

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Associates degree or equivalent work experience
- Logistics, Material Handling, or Material Movement experience.
- Competence with typical office computer applications, e.g. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, shipping/receiving software (i.e. EPICOR)
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Team player
- Ability to operate powered mobile and lifting equipment
- Ability to physically lift material up to 50 lbs.
- General Working Knowledge of Dangerous Goods and Environmental Classifications of EV Batteries.
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Automotive or electrical technician experience
- Logistics, Material Handling, or Material Movement experience of HV Components
- Knowledge of high voltage battery systems and safe work practices
- Forklift certification
- Crane and rigging certification
- CFR49 Hazardous Material Certified
- High voltage battery experience – receiving material, tracking material, moving material, crating/uncrating, or initial quality checks
