In this hybrid role, you will report to a Head of UX Design.
You Will
- Own one or more parts of the Waymo One Design System, designing the interactions and interfaces between riders, Waymo One service, and our go-to-market partners
- Lead all stages of the design process— from conceptualization, design, prototyping, and specification of user interfaces and system behaviors
- Drive a strong point of view for design strategy and the rider experience roadmap, balancing technical capability and business goals with a strong focus on the user
- Collaborate effectively with external and internal partners in Design, Product Management, Engineering, UX Research, Data Science, Marketing, and other stakeholders to ensure product excellence
- Participate in user experience research and usability studies
- Guide problem solving with teams to develop new solutions, and push and evolve mobile and transportation experiences to further Waymo’s mission to make transportation safe and easy for everyone
You Have
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience with design systems and component libraries, including design system documentation and creation of new components
- Portfolio highlighting consumer-facing mobile app projects that demonstrates experiences crafting usable and compelling digital interfaces across multiple platforms, including Android and iOS
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams of Designers, Researchers, Engineers, Content Designers, and Product Managers throughout the design process, creating user flows and wireframes to building user interface mockups and prototypes
- 6+ years of experience in User Experience and/or Product Design

- Deep understanding of agile and lean UX methodologies
- Portfolio highlighting early-stage and/or transportation-as-a-service (TaaS) projects
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a focus on stakeholder management
- A portfolio showcasing UX design solutions that drove measurable user growth and business impact in fast-paced environments
