Job Description:
We are seeking a hands-on, seasoned data engineering leader with deep technical expertise and strong business acumen to join us as Vice President - Data & AI. The ideal candidate would be a subject matter expert (SME) in enterprise data management and would have led large-scale data initiatives in global banking environments. This role will report to the Gobal Head of Delivery and be instrumental in driving our Data & AI transformation agenda and working closely with client stakeholders to deliver scalable, future-ready data solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead enterprise-wide data strategy, architecture, and execution including ETL frameworks, data governance, metadata management, master and reference data, and data mesh implementation.
Drive the design and implementation of scalable, reliable data platforms that support analytics, AI/ML, compliance and regulatory needs.
Support integration across multiple data platforms and ecosystems; cloud platform experience is a plus (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing data engineering team with a focus on modern tools and agile methodologies.
Champion innovation in data and AI, and partner with internal and client teams to identify opportunities for automation and advanced analytics.
Define and enforce best practices across the data lifecycle - covering quality, lineage, cataloging, privacy, and security.
Actively participate in pre-sales activities, including client discussions, solutioning, RFP/RFI responses, and effort estimations.
Collaborate with senior client stakeholders to define goals, align on priorities, and ensure delivery of high-impact outcomes.
Key Requirements:
15+ years of hands-on experience within data engineering, preferably for BFSI domain.
Demonstrated success in delivering large-scale data programs across complex enterprise environments.
Deep expertise in data engineering, ETL, data management & governance, metadata, master/reference data, and data mesh.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; must be able to engage and influence senior leaders.
Exposure to core banking systems such as Flexcube, Finacle, etc. is a strong advantage.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and data accuracy skills. Ability to thrive in an agile, fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
