Work Arrangement:
Hybrid - Position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time but the general expectation is that the employee be onsite an average of 3-5 days each week.
The Role:
Our team is seeking a strongly motivated candidate to be a Thermal Calibration Engineer, in the EV Thermal Calibration team. In this role, this person will be a technical interface between calibration team members, calibration technical specialists, software, and program teams. The selected candidate will also have ownership of delivering high quality calibrations for selected BEV3/BET programs.
What You’ll do:
- Develop and optimize calibrations to meet performance and timing requirements utilizing Calibration Standard Work
- Support and assist the team in closing out program PRTS or other program issues that come through
- Develop analytical tools to develop & verify calibrations - Ability to write scripts to develop RLM tools
- Strong ability to efficiently capture and analyze empirical data.
- Support and aid the development and execution of calibrations virtually (VDDV)
- Have ownership of delivering high quality thermal calibrations for selected BEV3/BET programs
- Organize, plan, and coordinate calibration activities with calibrators, Lead Calibrator and Diagnostic Strategist
- Support procuring requirements for resources to develop calibrations such as HFT, cold box, CWT
- Diagnose and correct vehicle, system, and controls deficiencies
- Participate in development trips and related test activities

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
- 2+ years of experience in SW/Controls development, calibration, verification, or validation.
- Experience with in-vehicle testing, including troubleshooting experience with electrical systems.
- Experience with data acquisition and analysis.
- Independent worker requiring little direction and works well in a team environment. Willing to gain specific training from a variety of people / techniques.
- Demonstrated adaptability and ability to deal with ambiguity and changes driven by program modifications/updates.
- Strong time management skills, required to meet agreed upon customer deliverables while managing multiple projects.
- Able to contribute to technical projects and work effectively with Local and Global teams.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Skills)
- Master of Science degree in Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in SW/Controls development, calibration, verification, or validation.
- Experience developing control system calibrations.
- Experience with tools commonly used in calibration: INCA, Vehicle Spy, CRETA, MDA, and/or MATLAB/Simulink.
- Experience with ETAS/INCA, Intrepid/Vehicle Spy or similar DAQ tools.
- Demonstrated experience developing scripts using programming languages such as Visual Basic, C, C++ or Python.
- Knowledge of the bevHEAT Thermal System.
