Role and Responsibilities:
- Source required materials based on Bill of Material (BOM) for battery cell and modules from the designated suppliers not only in US but globally.
- Manage global SCM management; conduct sourcing plan including materials' quantities and delivery dates in conjunction with factory pln.
- Conduct cost analysis for drive gap between plan/ target and actual purchase of material cost.
- Manage 4M schedule follow up with HQ procurement team.
- Monitor vendors to ensure on time deliveries to support manufacturing, materials within quality standard specifications, costs and discrepant materials are swiftly reconciled.
- Manage vendor risk by ensuring continuity business plans are in place for potential unpreventable interruption to the supply chain.
SCM / Logistic Planning Optimization
- Execute risk mitigation, business continuity, cost management, and operation strategies.
- Update and maintain information to include: material description, HTSUS No, duty ratio, origins; manufacturer, agent, and supplier-company / certification / factory address, material picture, unit price, PO quantity / amount, packing method, basic quantity per packing unit (pallet, bag, etc.) and basic quantity per delivery method (truck, 20 ft. container, etc.)
- Own the procurement process and support various procurement functions such as strategic sourcing, subcontracting, vendor file management, and assist staff in drafting of requests for proposals, specifications, terms or reference, evaluation criteria and sole source justifications.
- Prepare vouchers for all purchased items contracts as per progressive payment condition
- Be able to manage a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
- Ensure assigned suppliers are meeting agreed upon requirements as per contract
- Support all required documentation job for executing projects
- Lead the analysis of a specific commodity data and industry trends or leads and individual supply chain sub-category; reports results to managers
- Develop and negotiates long term relationships with strategic local vendors, including supplier managed inventory objectives.
- Conduct industry deep dive analysis to provide proactive insight to sourcing strategies 1 - 3 years out
- Conduct processes and SCM engineering to improve business processes.
- Analyze business and work processes related with procurement and SCM
- Devise and maintain processes, manuals, and work sheets
- Be able to work overtime and flexibility for conferring with co-worker and vendors located globally
Workforce Management
- Lead regular meetings with direct staff and cross functional teams to ensure assignments, objectives, cost savings and deliverables are on target.
Performance Management
- Get reports on key procurement / logistics activities / results on a weekly basis
- Assign and direct work according to procurement / logistics plan for each team (Procurement / Logistics)
- Be responsible for achieving, monitoring, and reporting Key performance Indicators (KPI's)
- Confer with other managers or global staff to coordinate activities in related departments
- Collect and voice opinions when the revision and / or establishment of new work procedures are needed.
Operation Management
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
- Stay up to date on industry trends and supply base
Skills and Qualifications:
- Korean language proficiency REQUIRED (our suppliers are located in Korea)
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineer or related field from accredited university
- Minimum of 3 years' experience with MRP - ERP business systems. Full working knowledge of supply chain systems with implementation experience. Full knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Fluent in SAP MM Module
- Must have outstanding leadership, excellent verbal and written communication skill
- Responsible for leading the full range of procurement processes.
- Develops, implements and manages contracts and service level agreements for the procurement of goods, services and leases.
- Deep understanding of contracts, contract governance, contractual language and the contract lifecycle
- Exceptional attention to detail, and talent for accuracy and precision
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to research and understand legal and financial implications
- Extensive experience working in the procurement department in a related field.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
Nice to have but not a must:
- Procurement, contractor, SCM, and/or engineer experience in the automotive / chemical manufacturing industries
- Extensive experience working in the procurement department in a related field.
- Certified Purchasing Manage, APICS, (Certified in Production and Inventory Management), CPMS, BPM (Preferred)
