What To Expect
Tesla PlantOps is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) to support site Facilities operations at our Fremont site. The selected candidate will provide Operations and Maintenance support to Facilities, equipment, buildings, and grounds. Facilities Maintenance Technicians utilize technical, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills while working with the entire Facilities Operations and Maintenance departments, performing general, preventive, and emergency maintenance duties as needed and assigned.
What You'll Do
Champion and reinforce a safety culture in all aspects of work completed. Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and policies. Develop Pre-Task Plans, Permits (SIPP, Hot Work, Line Break), LOTO, and EHS reviews, as necessaryResponsible for maintaining the following systems that include but are not limited to: HVAC systems (including boilers, chillers, cooling towers, compressors, pumps, filters, AHUs, MAHs, VFDs, and exhaust fans), Electrical systems (Distribution, switchgear, transformers, and lighting systems), Instrumentation & Controls (Allen Bradley PLCs, VFDs (Siemens), remote I/O, transmitters, switches, and proximity sensors), Dock systems and Roll-up doors, Plumbing/Restroom systemsComplete Maintenance Orders assigned in CMMS. Log hours, parts, completion notes, and follow-up work identified. Complete operational rounds, readings, sampling, and inspections as assignedMaintain clean work area in the shop and at the site of work. Ensure clean up and return of equipment and materials after completing all work and at end of shiftActively participate in identifying energy, utility, quality, and safety improvement opportunitiesSupport other projects as needed by leadership or as business needs change
What You'll Bring
Minimum three years of experience as a Maintenance Technician in an industrial/commercial environment. Trade School, Journey-Level experience preferredExcellent listening skills, organizational skills, and strong communication skillsAbility to work on rotating shiftsA commitment to excellence regarding quality work. A strong work ethic, proven follow-through skills, and a “can-do” attitude are highly desirableAbility to work in a fast-paced/challenging environment under constantly changing priorities and demandsDemonstrated technical ability in the repair and maintenance of industrial systemsExperience in safe work practices that include OSHA & Emergency Response Training, fall protection, NFPA 70E, and LOTO procedures. Comply with all applicable codes regulations, governmental agencies, and company directives regarding building operations and work safety

Expected Compensation
$32.00 - $48.27/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
