Consider before submitting an application:
This position is expected to start around May 2025 and continue through the Summer term (approximately August 2025) or into Fall 2025 if available and there is an opportunity to do so. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program. Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships.
International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.
About The Team
Tesla is looking for a highly motivated interns to join the Vehicle Software organization’s Systems Validation Team with a focus on high voltage systems (battery management, AC and DC charging, HV power conversion), thermal systems (HVAC, refrigerant systems, powertrain thermals), drive systems (torque management, longitudinal control) and chassis systems (brakes, suspension, steering). It is the responsibility of this team to validate all software driven, system level, vehicle requirements prior to any new hardware or software release or new product introduction.
Interns will support the development of our validation strategy and deliver automated solutions to execute testing and analysis efficiently and repeatedly, thus enabling rapid iteration and evolution of Tesla’s vehicle systems.

What You'll Do
Work with system architects, hardware designers and software developers, to maintain an expert understanding of vehicle systemsDevelop and execute comprehensive system and sub-system level test specifications and test plans and provide feedback to development teams Invent methods and build technology to execute tests and evaluate results efficiently and repeatedly Specify, design, develop and integrate test automation frameworks and tools Deliver test setups to integrate new subsystems with simulated and/or actual vehicle components Report and track issues with software and/or hardware releases Investigate field issues through data analysis and issue reproduction Continuously look for ways to improve the safety, performance, and customer satisfaction with Tesla products
What You'll Bring
Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field of study with a graduation date between August 2025 – August 2026 Hands-on technical experience debugging complex systems involving networked microprocessors and software-controlled electrical or electromechanical devicesExperience with Python or other scripting languages and/or C/C++ for embedded systemsAbility to use oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other electrical test instruments to support troubleshooting Proficiency with Altium or similar schematic software Ability to collaborate and communicate complex technical conceptsUnderstanding of physics fundamentals and first principles concepts Eager to work in an aggressive start-up like company environment with great opportunities for growth and spectacular achievement

Expected Compensation
$36.06 - $50.48/hour + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
