Inside the Role
The Product validation engineer is part of the E-Mobility Validation team. This position will be responsible for vehicle integration and validation of E-Mobility systems. The job will consist of test case development, test execution, reporting, and issue resolution. Validation to be performed in testing workshops, on the road, and at test tracks. The role will interface with product design, service, warranty, suppliers, and customers.

Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and execute test activities related to electrical, electronic, mechanical, environmental and HV safety for electric vehicles.
- Primary responsibility will be the development and testing of E-mobility systems features, as well as, validation of e -vehicle performance based characteristics.
- Develop design verification plans and reports (DVP&R). Identify the objectives and applicable standards, define test cases and test procedures
- Execute and document test results with conclusions and recommendations via informal and formal reports and presentations to engineering management.
- Advise project leads and manager of project scope, impacts, and timing as it relates to validation efforts and activities for projects.
- Independently prioritize assignments consistent with business goals and successfully implement projects on time and within budget
- Inform management of project issues, delays, and risks.
- Proactively interface and coordinate with product design, suppliers, warranty, and other departments in the product development and testing phases.
- Provide engineering technical assistance to personnel within and outside of the department.
- Improve the competitive market position by keeping abreast of the state of the art developments in the truck industry and applying the new knowledge to testing of designs.
- Generate and implement ideas to continuously improve the work environment, systems, tools, processes as well as product cost and quality.
Basic Required Skills & Experience
- Must have completed an internship at Daimler prior to applying
- Experience and ability to interpret vehicle/component/feature specification
- Must be able to lead/support electronic integration testing for over the road vehicle tests, including major quarterly road tests
- Strong collaboration, speaking, and presentation skills.
Basic Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience with Vector tools, Automotive Data and Time-Triggered Framework (ADTF), python, or C++.
- Experience leading technical projects
- Experience developing & execute test cases on mechanical or electrical systems
- Ability to analyze electrical and electronic circuits, comprehension of electrical transients and steady state properties, experience with Controller Area Networks (CAN) networks and electrical measuring equipment such as DMM, Oscilloscope, etc.
- Detailed knowledge of vehicle electrical and electronic systems, test instrumentation, data acquisition/analysis software and testing methodology.
- Experience with Electric Vehicle technologies.
- Knowledge of embedded processor control logic, and ability to program controllers
- Experience identifying and solving the root cause of complex problems.
- Troubleshooting experience related to measurement systems
