EPG (EPGAmerica.com) is currently seeking a full-time Control Systems Lead for one of our partners that is in the clean energy industry. This role suits candidates with significant expertise in heavy automotive engineering, control systems, and regulatory compliance. Expect to travel 10%-15% of the time to fully grasp the practical use and ongoing function of the company’s system and related products. As the lead for control systems, adaptability is key to promptly identifying and addressing issues to reach satisfactory solutions. The position could be remote for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Supervising maintenance and problem-solving across a range of embedded systems.
- Addressing intricate problems by utilizing expertise and understanding of systems.
- Using your understanding of systems and control to achieve the desired outcome for a client. Offering guidance that helps the client grasp the nature and uses of the specific products and solutions.
- Employing debugging and simulation tools to effectively conduct design iterations and optimization processes.
- Establishing and executing functional safety criteria.
- Consistently analyzing system performance to ensure it operates correctly.
- Collaborating with hiring management to develop a strong and efficient team.
- Working with team members and management to estimate development, allocate resources, and schedule tasks effectively to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Manage the release of both new and existing logic.
- Guarantee the correct release of logic to customers, tailored to their specific requirements and vehicle parameters.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering discipline
- 5+ years of experience designing embedded applications
- Experience in automotive controls/mechatronics required
- Extensive experience using MATLAB and SIMULINK software packages
- 3+ years of working experience with multiple communication networks (CAN/LIN/J1939/J1708)
- Experience with CANalyzer and Vehicle Spy tool to read and decode CAN signals
- Ability to define embedded system-level requirements to meet product performance and reliability requirements
- Adaptive to everchanging workloads, conditions, and environments

- Must be comfortable with exposure to outdoor, warehouse, and shop working conditions
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Willingness to travel domestically, as required (up to 15%)
