Consider before applying: This position is expected to start around Aug/Sep and continue through Dec/Jan. Internships are in-person for 40 hours a week for a minimum of 12 weeks. Please consider before submitting an application.
International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week. Many students will be limited to part-time depending on their academic standing.

The Charging Data & Modeling team uses large-scale data analysis, machine learning, and modeling to retrieve actionable insights for enhancing the charging experience while minimizing the costs to Tesla. They also build the software tools and pipelines needed to maximize the leverage of these insights across our global operations. This is a very exciting team as you will be directly supporting the largest EV Charging network in the world and be on the team responsible for all the data and model driven decisions.
What You'll Do
Apply software engineering principles, such as usability, testability, modularity, and object-oriented design, to ensure the development of reliable and efficient charging network solutionsBuild software tools and pipelines to effectively leverage insights and models for decision-making across global operationsConduct large-scale data analysis to extract meaningful insights for enhancing the charging experience for Tesla customersUtilize machine learning techniques and modeling to develop predictive models for charging network operationsSupport in making data-driven, model-based decisions that influence the overall charging network strategy and operationsContribute to cross-functional collaboration to optimize the charging experience Collaborate with different teams to identify opportunities for cost optimization in charging operations
What You'll Bring
Currently pursuing a degree in a relevant program with a focus on Power and Energy Systems in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Operations Research, Data Science or a related field with a gradation date between 2024-2025Knowledge of software engineering principles including usability, testability, modularity, and object-oriented designFamiliarity with building software tools and pipelines for large scale data analysis and modelingExcellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skillsStrong communication and collaboration abilities to work with global operations teamsUnderstanding of the EV charging industry and related technologiesExperience with programming languages such as SQL, Python, or JavaScript

Expected Compensation
$36.06 - $50.48/hour + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
